Our Working Stock

“Pick a job, and the job will pick the dogs” - Floyd Boudreaux

All of the dogs in our program bring unique strengths and talents that we strategically incorporate into our pairings.

They must all be stable, with sound environmentals, and neutral with strangers.

Fischetti’s Cairo

Cairo comes from a long line of catchdogs in Queensland Australia. Imported in 2015, he carries heavy Mastino influence, and truly represents a functional mastiff in both type and temperament. Moderately built at 28.5” and 125lbs , he is deceptively fast and agile with high prey drive, strong defense and strong nerves. Cairo truly excels in hog hunting, with a strong nose, and is trained in personal protection sports. This is a driven but exceptionally clear headed dog. He produces better than he himself is, especially with sharp females.

Grubb’s Gorilla Zoe

Zoe is our young working American bulldog prospect. A very solid hybrid performance type, she is 3/4 Koura/Leclerc 1/4 Boyd Blood. She exhibits extreme drive, unmatched work ethic, with unshakeable nerves and environmentals. She rounds it out with a moderate defensive edge. A very confrontational female, she works to create conflict similarly to her sire Shriver’s Gigz. She is very powerful and well built, displaying heavy musculature and performance type athleticism. Fast, agile, and committed to action - we have high hopes for this young girl and are excited about her development.

Savant’s Nero - Just shy of 2yo

Savant’s Nero

Savant’s Nero is a first cross APBT (Redboy/Jocko/OFRN) x Staghound (Deerhound x Wolfhound X Greyhound) and brings a phenomenal structure, outgoing temperament and solid environmentals. Extremely athletic, surprisingly strong, social and very confident, this a young dog is currently being tested and proven on a variety of game, in the hopes that his sighthound influence can be strategically added to our molosser based productions. We hope he will bring speed, as well as structure without sacrificing grit due to his gamedog influence.

Savant’s Egypt of Southpaw

Savant’s Egypt was a product of a collaborative breeding between Southpaw Kennel’s Elsa the Snow Queen and Fischetti’s Cairo. This was the blending of two established hog dog lines, with Elsa coming directly from Allan Scott’s yard herself. Egypt is extremely driven, but inherited the strong defensive edge from her mastino influence. This is an athletic and well built female who doesn’t back down from confrontation. High strung with a bulldog mindset, Egypt is a balanced dog which embodies the “traditional bull x mastiff” type well.

Savant’s Kimber of Saber at 14mo

Savant’s Kimber of Serbia’s Saber

We don’t typically breed to “outside females” but when the opportunity arose to breed Cairo to a very traditional, double coated, long muzzled, sharp and prey driven Serbian Import Cane Corso - we took it. Kimber was a stand out female early on. Forward, dominant, and a big instigator with her littermates - she’s a very confrontational young pup who we’ve placed with one of our hog hunting buddies. She’s taking to blood trailing and dispatching small game well. We are looking forward to her progression as a lead in catchdog.

Inisbua’s Cass

Cass is our Mastino Import from the UK. Very traditional in both temperament and type, this large female is 29” and 135lbs. She has extremely high territorial aggression, is very defensive and exhibits moderate prey drive. Despite not being the friendliest dog, she is extremely gentle, easily managed, and loving with her family members. She is of moderate type, and does not display many of the extreme exaggerations that are celebrated in the show Neapolitan mastiffs prevalent today. She is an invaluable member of our kennel, and a strong producer.

Savant’s Lil’ BB

A gamebred heavy Chinaman/El Negro gyp, Lil’ BB represents what many would consider some of the best Eli/Carver crosses of all time. With Garner’s Chinaman becoming infamous for the Stanford University Study documenting his extraordinarily high fast twitch muscle fiber count, superior skeletal muscle attachment geometry and a VO2 max oxygen assimilation capability which rivaled top racing greyhounds. Coupled with wrestling prowess and strong finish, Garner’s Chinaman is routinely quoted as a strong producer, with his double bred son Frisco being ranked among the top producing ROM Dogs. Driven with catchweight size, we are looking to incorporate her into some of our mastiff pairings. Apbt Online Pedigree

Savant’s Khan

Khan is out of our Cairo x Bella Fall 2018 Breeding. Khan is proving to be an extremely confident and driven dog with a civil edge. He displays much of Cairo’s intensity and prey drive, coupled with Bella’s strong suspicion and aloofness that mastiffs are so famous for. We anticipate that he will mature into a very large dog, likely 29-30” and 140lbs, with a very strong defense drive, and high territorial aggression. He has very sound nerves, strong environmental and is one of our sharper dogs - with a bring it on attitude. He reproduces this very trait well.

Savant’s Amina - pictured at 12mo

Savant’s Amina

Savant’s Amina is quickly becoming one of our up and coming gyps. The product of Khan bred back to his mother - we had looked to double up on the strong civil edge and defense drive within a future brood bitch, capable of producing a more consistent litter when “outcrossed”. She brings extreme athleticism and enthusiasm to bitework, has a phenomenal nose in the woods, and quickly dispatches quarry. Sound structurally, with a long muzzle, and lean body - we have no doubt she’ll contribute to our crosses well.

C8pitalK9’s Broomhilda of Savant

Savant’s Broomhilda is out of our Cairo x Cass breeding. She represents some of the finest working mastino type blood here on the East Coast. Almost a direct clone of her sire, she carries immense prey drive, speed, and athleticism. She is a very high energy dog, with full grips and appears to lack an off switch in the home. We are looking forward to seeing how she matures and the refinement of her defense drive and territorial aggression.

Eley’s Bella

Bella is a third generation bandog - heavy South African Boerboel, Presa Canario Cross. At 27” and 118lbs, she is a strong and athletic bitch. Bella displays strong territorial aggression, high defense drive and suspicion, and a low prey drive. She has phenomenal rear angulation, and is great with children. Highly independent and intelligent, Bella is easily trained and managed, and exhibits typical mastiff temperament. Quiet in the house and intense when provoked. She is a proven producer, passing on high stranger suspicion to her pups.

Savant’s Rock

Rock is proving to be an extremely capable young staghound consisting of Tibbs/Feather/Stouffer lines from the Midwest. His parents are the typical head and throat dogs one would expect of coyote dogs, but have proven to be extremely capable hog dogs as well. Rock is uncharacteristically hard for a sighthound, and displays good nose, and extreme endurance. Additionally he’s proven himself to make a solid draw dog. He is a Russian Wolfhound, Deerhound, Greyhound cross. Despite being slightly heavier in type, he is extremely strong and balanced and takes hogs as well as coyotes with ease.

Pictured at 2yo

Savant’s Daisy

Daisy is out of a stud service between Cairo x Ginger - a winter 2020 breeding with a very civil and sharp APBT x Boerboel, who we believed would compliment Cairo’s shortcomings. Daisy has turned out to be a clone of her sire, displaying high prey drive but with the added “edge” we like to see in our more “man oriented” working dogs. She retains good size and type, with low defensive thresholds and high biddability. Daisy has made an ideal yet serious family dog, who has demonstrated to be extremely capable in organized bitework.

Savant’s Reese - pictured at 2yo

Savant’s Reese of c8pitalk9

Savant’s Reese is part of our deep generation “sporting dog” project. He is comprised of some of the best working bull x herder crosses here on the East Coast - and represents a line whose primary strength exist on the competition field. He is 62.5% Presa Canario, 31.25% Dutch Herder, and 6.25% American Pit Bull Terrier. This is a cross best suited for the competitive working dog enthusiast - who understands the drive and intensity of the herder, coupled with the hardness of the bull blood. These dogs are not for beginners, and are best within sport homes.

Savant’s Kong

Savant’s Kong is belly mate sibling to Amina. He embodies everything the English Mastiff was supposed to be. Tall, athletic, with exceptional movement, and a head piece that rivals a basketball. He is a big, serious dog, and hard biting dog who relishes combat. Not indiscriminately prey driven, Kong is a defensive mastiff, true in both type and temperament. Being linebred, his contributions should strengthen the consistency of both type and character within our line. At 28” and a lean 120lbs - he is a dog of immense presence, guarding a large property estate with 2 young boys.
